Features of the internal filling closet in the bedroom

Most often, wardrobes are located in the bedroom - this is the best option for those who do not have a separate dressing room.

When the stage of selecting the design of the storage system and its size is completed, it is necessary to determine the internal filling of the wardrobe in the bedroom. If in a regular wardrobe there are only three possibilities to arrange clothes: hang on hangers, fold on shelves or put in drawers, the compartment design provides more opportunities. There are many special devices for storing things in wardrobes that will make it more functional and convenient to use.

The total volume of the cabinet can be distributed as follows:

  1. the lower part - for storing shoes;
  2. the middle part is the central part of the cabinet; things that are in daily use are stored here;
  3. the upper part - here are things that are used rarely or in a certain season.

What will be the filling of the closet in the bedroom of your apartment, depends only on what and how much you intend to store.

The figure below shows the main elements of the filling wardrobe.

Filling the wardrobe: options, photos

  • A pantograph is a mechanism that allows you to easily lower and raise the bar with hangers, so that it can be positioned high enough, freeing up more space at the bottom.

  • Mesh baskets (made of metal or plastic). Mounted on special racks and equipped with rollers, with which you can easily pull out the basket.

  • Bars for placing things on hangers.

  • Trouser holders.

  • Special hangers for belts and ties.

  • Shoe shelves and shoe mounts.

  • Containers and organizers for storing small items.

In addition, the internal filling of the wardrobe in the bedroom may include special sections, for example, a compartment where the ironing board is removed, or a vacuum cleaner, an iron bracket or multi-tiered baskets for various trifles.

Recommendations for choosing the wardrobe compartment

  1. The number of doors should be equal to the number of internal sections, otherwise the cabinet will be inconvenient to use. With wide doors, two compartments are allowed behind one door.
  2. The bar for hangers should be placed in the part of the cabinet, the depth of which is not less than 60 cm, and width - 90 cm.
  3. When calculating the width of the sections for filling the closet in the bedroom, keep in mind that the shelves should not be half a meter - otherwise they will be inconvenient to use. Optimum width - 60 cm.
  4. It is necessary to maintain a distance of at least 35-40 cm between the shelves (if you are going to store linen on them).
  5. The standard height of the section for a bar under the hanger is 170-190 cm (for long things) and 110-120 cm (for short clothes). It may vary and depends on the height and length of the clothes. The height of the section can be calculated independently, for this it is necessary to measure the height of the clothes and add 20 cm (this is the height of the hanger itself and the attachment of the rod).
  6. The upper shelves (mezzanines) are wider than the others, about half a meter high. Here you can store large things, bags, suitcases.
  7. When calculating the internal filling of the wardrobe in the bedroom, keep in mind that approximately 10 cm of depth will go to the installation of a sliding door system. At the same time on the clothes hanging on the hangers, you will need at least 55 cm.
  8. Small items of clothing (underwear, handkerchiefs, etc.) are more convenient to store in drawers.
  9. Drawers must be placed so that they do not overlap with the door frames, otherwise they will not slide out. In the wardrobes with four doors, there are practically no inaccessible areas, and there the drawers can be located anywhere.
  10. If the drawer has a handle, it should not reach the door - this must be taken into account when designing the cabinet.
  11. To fill the closet, select the drawers on the ball-bearing extension system - such a drawer can be pulled out completely without the risk of dropping to the floor, which makes its use more convenient.
  12. If you provide long (more than 80 cm) shelves, they should have a support system at the bottom, otherwise the shelves can bend. The same applies to the long rods for clothing (over 100 cm). In such cases, in the middle it is fixed with a vertical bar, resting against the floor and ceiling.
  13. Lighting inside the cabinet is not recommended - it is much easier to equip it with a visor with built-in spotlights. This will make it possible to evenly illuminate the entire contents of the cabinet.
  14. If a large mezzanine is planned, it is recommended to place it behind common compartment doors, this reduces the cost (as there is no need to order individual doors) and improves the interior.
