Decor of bottles with ribbons - beautiful ways of decoration

Decorated bottles are a symbolic gift for a wedding celebration, for the child’s birthday, for the anniversary of family life, Easter, new year, February 23 or March 8. The present is not only carefully decorated, but it is also a tasteful choice of content, so that in a couple of years it can be uncorked and pampered with aged wine. Bottles are designed using both original, thematic elements, and to imitate a pair (men and women), which they dress into improvised “costumes” of ribbons and fabric. Ways to decorate glass containers mass. Among them are the most popular:

  • Decoupage Transfer the pattern from the base with the subsequent application of a layer of fixing varnish.
  • Fretwork Drawing a relief ornament or composition on glass and its coloring.
  • Salt or "colored" sand. Refers to the decoration of the container from the inside.
  • With the effect of a mosaic of pieces of cloth, broken glass, ceramics.
  • The painting. Use mainly acrylic paints.
  • Weaving with ropes, threads, twine.
  • Coloring from the inside. Looks impressive when using compositions with sparkles.
  • Etching drawings. Based on a chemical reaction. As a result, the glass is transparent frosted.
  • The decor is cereals and pasta.
  • Making beads, beads, glass beads, cabochons.
  • Decoration with ribbons and cloth.

The latter type includes a number of techniques. Each of them uses simple and accessible materials. You can create a luxurious flower arrangement or reproduce in detail the national costume. Let's talk in more detail about the ribbons and the possibilities that they open up in decorating.

Materials and tools

To work with tapes, you need a set of simple tools that will be found in every home. If this is the first experience of decorating bottles, then it is better to start with simple design solutions to get your hand filled. To work will require:

  • Sharp scissors.
  • Glue that fits well on the glass. It is better to use the "moment".
  • Braid, lace, shreds.
  • Accessories: beads, beads, buttons, cabochons.
  • Tweezers for creating miniature items.
  • Tapes.

The main material also has a number of variations:

  • Satin. Most often used because of ductility and elegant aesthetic appearance.
  • Silk. Thinner and slippery material.
  • Satin. They have a more dense structure, and the fiber pattern is visible to the naked eye.
  • Jacquard. Decorated with original drawings.
  • Organza tapes. The material is translucent and airy.
  • Cotton Well kept shape, therefore, suitable for creating bulk compositions.

Each of the above types is used by needlewomen for decorating bottles, but the most popular material is an atlas. It combines the best combination of quality and price.

Difficult compositions from the combined materials originally look. For example, cotton flowers surrounded by satin petals or the same background.

Bottle preparation

Both empty and full containers must be properly prepared for the procedure. First remove the label and glue residue along with it. There are two methods for performing this procedure:

  • Soak paper labels in hot water and then sharply rip it off. The method is not considered to be the most effective, since the glue often remains on the glass and has to be scraped off.
  • Heat the label with dry, hot air and slowly tear off a centimeter. As a source of flow can be a hair dryer, turned on at full capacity.

After cleaning the glass it is thoroughly washed and dried. Then the surface of the bottle is wiped with a cotton pad dipped in alcohol. Thus, the glass will be degreased, which will provide a good "grip" with glue. Tapes are usually pre-cut after measurements.

Ribbon decoration

Decorating a bottle of champagne or wine with your own hands is not such a difficult task. Several master classes with a step-by-step job description will tell about popular techniques and features of their performance, and a novice designer can only choose. The easiest option: the creation on the glass fabric cover "layers." Work begins with a neck. A piece of tape is made into a “loop”, which is put on the thinnest section of glass container.

If necessary, its ends are trimmed and glued to the surface of the bottle. Then they take the next strip, create the same “loop”, partially impose it on the previous layer (so that the base does not show through) and also attach it. Thus create a solid fabric covering with beautiful places of joints (overlay). Colors and materials combine. Then the resulting background is complemented by other decorative elements.

Create a relief

Another technique - the creation of relief texture. The effect is achieved by sticking tapes or pieces of textiles to the surface and then squeezing them with your fingers. As a result, folds are formed, which most accurately imitate the thin fabric of clothing. It is necessary to glue the entire piece completely, and not its separate parts. As a basis for glass attach paper or other fabric of a neutral shade.

Technique kazashi

To create flower compositions, they use the technique of Kazashi (kazashi), which appeared in Japan, where girls decorated their heads with similar decorations. Many saw complex floral arrangements with dangling "buds" on long threads, adorned on the high hairstyles of women in the east. The essence of the method lies in the special folding of shreds and pieces of ribbons in such a way as to produce sharp and rounded ends of leaves and petals.

Tweezers they are carefully collected, and loose tips are fixed on the surface with glue. The most beautiful look elements with multi-layered flower buds. In the technique of Kazaks collect petals and impose on each other the same type of workpiece, but of different sizes and colors. Thus, a volume effect is achieved. The flowers of kazashi are combined with openwork, beads, braid.

Technique shibori

Another gift from Japan - shibori ribbons. Most often they are used to create wearable jewelry (necklaces, earrings, bracelets), but they are also suitable for bottles. The tape is a “reaped” piece of fabric that is painted in different colors with an ombre effect. When creating the material, it is crumpled and tied into knots, so that the result will be a rainbow color, which opens the way for the master's fantasy. Shibori tape, as a rule, is glued to a fabric base, but in the case of a bottle it is attached directly to the glass. It is worth noting that the material without any additional decor looks though impressive, but boring. Ribbons always surround all sorts of accessories, among which prevails beads, cabochons and glass beads to match the base color. The composition acquires volume due to the folds of the material and looks like a festive solemnly.

Ribbon Costumes

On the most "masculine" day, a bottle of brandy, which is "dressed" in shape, will become a non-trivial gift for a representative of the stronger sex. Of particular importance will be a similar gift for a military man, a rescuer or a police officer. From satin ribbons make out a jacket, which is decorated with miniature chevrons, shoulder straps, buttons and ties with clips.

The costume is created using the technique of overlapping ribbons on each other. Near the neck form the first white layers that mimic the collar. Then green, black or blue stripes (depending on the type of troops), make out the uniform. Some skilled workers sew it separately from the fabric, and then just put it on the bottle. Separately, attention is paid to the neck and cork. They are decorated with tiny berets, caps, budenovka, podilok or caps. Sew items separately and simply attach the finished miniature headdress to the neck.

Bottles for the wedding

The bride and groom are always given two bottles of champagne for the wedding. This is a well-established tradition, the roots of which are no longer to be found. At the wedding, they play the role of decor on the festive table. After the celebration, they are hidden and the first one is opened after exactly one year, and the second - by the appearance of the first-born of the couple. As a rule, taras are decorated either as a symbolic bride and groom, or under the general theme of a wedding. Necks adorn the doves (symbols of loyalty), rings and satin bows. Costumes "bottle" of the bride and groom are trying to make it look like the originals.

Men's clothing - a black jacket or tuxedo, with a ribbon, tied with a butterfly, beads, buttons and miniature cufflinks. Bridesmaid dresses are used to imitate lace, lace, weave fabrics, tulle, and sometimes even wire crinoline. The bottles decorated in the theme of the wedding are wrapped in layers of ribbons of beautiful colors, which are combined with artificial pearls, openwork stripes, beads, bows and volumetric flowers. The neck of the "female" container is decorated with a miniature diadem with a veil, and the "male" one is put on hats or cylinders.

It is interesting to look at the compositions with candlesticks and glasses, which are decorated in the same style. Some weddings also use boutonnieres, baskets woven from ribbons or paraphernalia around young chairs in the same color scheme and with similar motifs.

Conclusion

Ribbon bottle decor is a popular craft among handmade lovers. To create simple compositions you don’t have to plow over a handful of beads or perform delicate work with “diamond” pebbles and tweezers. A little patience, a bit of inspiration and available materials - that's all that is required for the "sample of the pen" in this design direction. But then you will become the donor of the most original gifts, which will be a pity to open.
